WD Smartware not recognized by SmartWare

This is my first message here so please be kind :slight_smile:

Im using a Asus N66 Router that has a USB connection in the back for network storage.    I have mapped my 2TB MY Passport HD to my PC and it shows the data currently in the drive while its connected to the router---- however the software does not see that the drive exists.   Please advise :slight_smile:

FYI Using 2.2.1

Hello,

This drive has been designed to work directly on the USB port on your computer. The WD Smartware software will not recognized it if you have it connected to a router.
