WD My Passport 1tb not able to drag and drop, using Macbook Air

Until now, I’ve never used the above mentioned mass storage drive simply dragging and dropping (specifically from my computer to the drive) as from the beginning (purchasing it last year), I must have selected an option where it simply sees it as a back up.

Right now I’m pulling my files off the drive over to another external drive, going to format it, and try again. After which, hopefully I should be able to drag files from the computer or any other connected storage device over to the original external drive I’ve been talking about.

Am I understanding things correctly and will that most probably work for me now??

Hello,

Drag and drop on a Mac should work without any issues if the drive is formatted for Mac.

Note that formatting the drive will delete all data stored in it.

Thanks - I worked it out in the end, just going through Utilities on the Mac itself and formatting it simply, careful to choose ExFAT or FAT32 depending on my needs. Thanks again.
