Passport recognized by Win 10, but not in WD Backup

I can see the backups in Windows, but SD Backup says “unable to back up files to My Passport”. I’ve checked Disk Management (healthy) and Drive Helper is running. This is right after a major update by microsoft…

Any ideas?

WD support didn’t know either. The solution, as I stumbled on to, is to
delete the backup schedule and enter a new one… very strange.
