I recently bought a Sansa Clip for my son. It worked fine for a while, but now anytime he tries to press the menu button on the clip while a song is playing the device will automatically shut off and reset itself. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help 
Sounds mysterious, but in the meantime have you updated the firmware according to the manual or online directions here? On windows device just install the tool that does it automatically, or else do it by hand for a mac. On any such device even fresh from the factory, it seems to have ancient firmware that is fairly buggy.
