Fuze+ folder browse mode

Hey all,

So i just bought fuze+ 16GB and sony S545 (16 GB - http://www.sonystyle.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=20153&catalogId=100803&langId=200&productId=8198552921665940169#specifications)

Both cost the same where I live, and I am planning to return one.

Obviously, the dilemma is which. One of the big factors going for sony is that you can browse the music by folder, and alphabetically(e.g. all ‘A’ songs, etc). I have a lot of songs ripped from long long time ago and essentially without any tag info whatsoever(e.g. track 1, track 2, track 3…). As well, many of the audio books I listen to lack tags as well. Hence the ability to listen to only files in a certain folder is critical.

Question is simple - is there a confirmed firmware update of some other official info on whether folder browsing will be added? Because without it, I am fairly sure I have to return fuze+ (even though I love many other things about it vs sony like mSD card slot, radio RDS and on the fly playlist).

I understand your frustration, both with audiobooks, and older music files that may not have proper tags.  For both of these applications, folder browsing is a wonderful thing.

Folder browsing was added to the earlier Fuze, as well as the Clip+ over time.  _It has not been announced officially if this capability will be added to the new Fuze+. _

I agree, folder browsing is quite convenient for many uses,  including the capability toscan the internal or external memories for files, or to find a recently transferred file that cannot be found by normal ID3 tag navigation.  The capability is both useful and practical.

The Fuze+ is still very new.  Time will tell if new functions will be added to the device.
