How do I daisy-chain a new 4TB My Book to an existing 2TB My Book used for Mac Time Machine under Mountain Lion OS?
I have about 108,000 RAW files in iPhoto and want to transfer them to an (as-yet unpurchased) 4TB drive, freeing-up space on the internal 1TB and the existing external 2TB WD My Book.
I’m fairly new to Macs after years with MS so am unsure of how best to proceed. Any advice will be most appreciated.
Thanks for the quick response. My current WD drive is shown on the box as WD My Book Studio ll Dual-drive Storage System with RAID 2TB FireWire 800 eSATA USB 2.0 Model Number WD20002H2Q-00 Serial Number [Deleted].
I bought and installed it on 26 March 2012
This drive is dedicated to my iMac’s Time Machine feature.
It was my intention to buy a WD 4TB drive of a similar type but I have not yet decided on the exact model and would welcome your advice as well as on how best to daisy-chain the two drives.
