Can i put a 32 gb microSDHC in my 8gb Sansa? Does it add to 40gb or does the player limit it to 32gb? Would it manage a Class 4 SDHC card or would i gain anything with a class 10 card?

Yes.

It adds 32GB to whatever the interanl memory storage capacity is. In your case, 40GB (actual measured space will be less though).
Would it manage a Class 4 SDHC card
Yes.
or would i gain anything with a class 10 card?
No.
Thank you very much for the splendid througoutly answer!
Yea i thought of it too but i got a great deal on a Class 4 32gb microSD card. But i think i can live with 4mbyte/s atleast for now.

Actually, there is a benefit to a Class 10 card, but not via the Clip:
There’s also been a number of people posting that they are experiencing (various) problems when using a Class 10 card (with the Clip Zip and Fuze+ in particular). For the small gain in time savings (and this is only realized when loading many files at one time, as in multiple GB’s), the risk of encountering compatibility issues in my opinion, simply isn’t worth it.
But to each his own.
The class 10 cards are much more expensive than class 4 ones, almost double the price. Sandisk players have issues with some class 10 cards. i suggest you use class 4 cards, even though it may take around an hour or so to completely fill a 16GB class 4 card, and around 2 hours or so to completely fill a 32GB class 4 card. Most people don’t completely fill a card from empty that often.

Exactly right. After that initial fill-up, most of the time people only swap out portions of the card, not the entire amount. I wouldn’t spend the extra for a class 10. Class 4 cards even allow playback of 720p videos smoothly, on devices capable of such wondrous things.
Not comparable quality brands of cards. You might find an off brand class 10 card for almost the same price as a high quality brand class 4 one, but for high quality brands, the class 10 cards seem to run 75%-100% more than the same brand class 4 ones.

And:
Available as of July 20 at Frys Electronics / frys.com, a 32 microSD _ Samsung Class 10 _ card, for $27.99 (regularly $39.99), with low $1.99 ship.

So that works out to roughly $30.
There are multiple sellers on Amazon that offer a 32GB Class 4 SanDisk card bundled with a microsdhc card reader for $20 or slightly under…http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004JISIE4/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
For me, paying 50% more, not sure it’s worth it.
At this point though, I have 32GB Class 4 Sandisk cards in my phone and my Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0, and a Sandisk 16GB Class 2 in my RB Clip Zip, so I don’t need any more cards. It does kinda ■■■■ that when I bought my 32GB cards that they still cost $30-$40 at the time…lol.
Given the problems some people have had with Class 10 cards, I don’t think I’d buy one even if they were offered at the same price as the Class 4’s. The Class 10’s are designed for camera/video use, not mp3 players. I never fill up a 32GB card at one sitting, so any transfer time savings would be negligible.
One can probably find high quality 32GB class 4 micro SDHC cards for $20 or less with free shipping.
As Tapeworm said, using a class 10 card in a Sandisk player isn’t worth the risk, as so many have had issues by doing that. If I knew it wouldn’t be an issue, then i might spend a bit extra for class 10. I hope Sandisk’s next players will be okay with class 10 cards, and that the readers in them will give class 10 speeds.
It’s worth noting here that the class speed of the card will not have any effect on the database refresh times, either. (for those of you that still are dealing with the database refresh, that is.)
