What will happen if i change WD My Book/Passport Password

I remember my password. I just wanna know some details about WD My Book/Passport.

  1. Whether changing password action will format disk or not?
  2. If i remove password, WD BOOK will decrypt all data, then re-save files?
  3. I have a 5T My WD Passport, which i did not encrypt. If i set password, WD Passport will automatically encrypt old files?
