WD my passport portable supports for both windows pc and ipad mini or not

hi guys , i am planning to buy new ipad mini wifi with 16gb storage capacity.
due to the less storage capacity i need to buy a hard drive for storing films
softwares for my windows pc.

My friend said me that ipad accepts only FAT32 and exFAT format but normally we have NTFS format in hard disc
all pendrives have FAT32 format disadvantage of FAT32 format is usb 2.0 speed , no sequrity for files and maximun 4gb for one file is accepted for transfering but NTFS support only on windows os

My question is whether WD my passport portable supports for both windows pc and ipad mini with good speed and security for files ???

can u pls help me solve this riddle i am confused.

Thanks in advance

The My Passport™ does support formatting as FAT32.

Please keep in mind that this is, as you have already find out, and old file system and there are some limitations with it.

The limitations are bound to the file system and not the drive. If the drive is formatted in a more advance file system like NTFS or HFS+J will have a better performance.

However, the unit will work well in either of the file systems previously mentioned.
