WD External hard drive not showing up

Hi everyone,

My book WD external hard drive has not been showing up on my computer and all it is doing is flashing the whole time. I have tried a few things and it has not worked.

Can someone please let me know if something can be done?

i have the same problem with my elements 3.0 (which i bought just yesterday), im using acer 4755g/win8 64bit, the usb2.0 is ok with wd, but usb3.0 cannot detect wd elements. how to fix this? i use the usb3.0 port for flash drive, printer, etc, i just don’t know if it trully works as usb3.0.

If it is showing in USB 2 but not USB 3 you probably need to check your USB updates. If your USB 3 is a addon card try the manufacturer’s site or the computer buildr’s site.
