WD Drive utilities doesn’t recognize my Passport Essential and it says “Attach a supported drive”. Windows recognizes the drive.I want to update the firmware and I can’t.
Also I can connect the disk only into a usb 3.0 port. If I put it in a usb 2.0 port , spins and after a while stops spinning and computer doesn’t recognizes it.
You should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this for live assistance and troubleshooting regarding replacing failed drive in My cloud device.

Also, the drive picture you have posted it is WD internal drive not a My passport essential drive.
