WD 5TB My Book Ext HD keeps disappearing in Windows Explorer

Hello,

I have an HP Envy s750 Windows 10 desktop with USB 3.0 ports
I’ve tried the solutions below and my 5TB My Book HD still keeps disappearing in Windows Explorer.

Replacing USB cord
Using different USB ports
Downloading WD Drive Utilties (Tests passed, Sleep=Off)
Control Panel > Advanced Power Options > USB Setting > USB Selective Suspend = Disabled
Updated my HP drivers

I do have other portable drives attached, but I don’t think that should interfere.

I would leave my PC overnight and by morning, the 5TB My Book HD is no longer connected (does not show in Windows Explorer). I would have to unplug the HD powercord and unplug USB cord, then reconnect and then it would appear again in Windows Explorer.

This is really painful, as I want to use it for my media drive.

Anyone know how to fix?

Thanks

Hello,

Make sure the drive is plugged in to a wall outlet. Also make sure it is plugged in directly into the computer do not use a USB HUB. If possible please try it on another computer.

Tried this and still disappeared the next day.

Any other suggestions.
I am ready to RMA this thing.
This hard drive has let me down.

Thanks
