Updating Tags on MP3's already on the Fuze

Is there a way to use either MP3tag and Stamp ID Tag Editor to update tag info on MP3’s while they are on the Fuze.  I can’t get either to regognize my Fuze in order to update the Album Cover info.  Now, with the new firmware update, the tag info shows more info (I didn’t see this before), so more of the info I had left off can be added.  I don’t want to reformate and readd.  It would be easier to edit them while on the Fuze, which brings me back to my original question.  I am using Rhapsody, but could use MMP.  Do you have to edit them in a windows file environment? Thanks

It depends how much memory you have left and if the music was loaded in MTP mode or MSC mode.  If you used MTP mode, then MP3tag does not recognize the appliance as a valid drive, and thus you can’t do it on the fly.

Most of my music (except Rhapsody Channels) is loaded as MSC mode, and thus my Fuze looks like two standard removable drives and I can browse MP3tag to those drives just like any other.   If you have too little available memory, then Mp3tag can’t open up the file in it’s internal “temp” directory on the drive to modify it and as such you’ll have to free up space.

I have about 1.2 G of memory left.  If I get into the windows file, should I just copy a album tag into the window that holds the MP3 files?

What maybe a bit easier (it will take a bit longer) is to copy all the files off of your player into a folder on your desktop, then add that folder to Mp3tag and do your tagging, then just copy the files back from that folder to your player.
