Don’t post your Serial Number on a Public Forum.
The Serial Number is Private Information you’ll need for Warranty Claims if you need it.
Do you want someone to Steal it, to make a False/Fraudulent Claim ?
If your drive is not being recognized while connecting USB 3.0 but works fine in USB 2.0 then try the below steps and hopefully it will work in USB 3.0 as well:
- Plug the drive into a USB 2.0 port and ensure you can see its file contents in File Explorer.
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand “Disk Drives” then right click on the drive corresponding to the Western Digital hard drive (mine says “WD Elements 10A2 USB Device”).
- Press “Uninstall”. Continue with the uninstallation process.
- Unplug the drive.
- Shutdown.
- Boot.
- Plug drive into USB 3.0 port (the driver will automatically install and should work fine on USB 3.0)
It still dont work. Light on the disk is static, disk are making normal noises, but PC don
t even see it. I plug it, and nothing happend, but when I plug it into 2.0, PC see it, and all the drivers are installing.
Try the below steps and check if that works:
- Go to the device manager and delete the external drive and driver.
- Then remove the drive and shut down the PC.
- Boot back up after a minute.
- When windows is done loading, reattach the external drive. This will cause the driver to reload.
You might have to do that again but include the USB 3.0 controller as well.
