I have 2 FUZE 4 gb and want to know if I can sync 2 of these and how. Can they have the same music? Different songs? Please help
Why ‘sync’ at all?
Just drag & drop the songs you want from your computer to one of the Fuzes and likewise do the same to the other. They can be the same, or totally different, whatever you want.
SYNC =
D & D =
Absolutely! You can have any combination of songs on either device, the same ones if desired. IF you are synchronizing with Windows Media Player, it assigns a unique ID to each device.
Come to think of it, you can plug three or four Sansas (Sansae?) in at the same time, open WiMP, click the “next device” button, and rotate from device to device. A total music festival.

Is there a way not to sync? Everytime I plug my Fuze in every single picture, video, and all music starts transferring. I do not want my daughter’s music on my Fuze!
What program are you using on your PC to perform the sync? The problem is there, not in the Fuze.

Turn off “Automatic Sync” in Windows Media Player. Set it instead to “Manual Sync”. Otherwise, it will grab anything and everything it can find and put it on your player!
Better yet, set your player to MSC mode, and take WMP out of the equation altogether. Just drag & drop what you want to the player from your computer.
Yes, I know you can drag & drop in MTP mode too, but switching to MSC avoids a plethora of other problems as well. Unless you use Rhapsody, Napster, or Overdrive audio books that are DRM-crippled, you’re better off staying away from MTP mode. Period. And forget about Auto-Defect too!

Yes! Let’s set up the automatic sync limits, and then WiMP will be happy with your Fuze, whenever it is plugged in.
First, when it tries to sync everything, don’t panic, just click the Stop Sync button in the lower right. Some pinhead decided that we all want to dump everything onto our portable player, and WiMP will try to do just that.
The nice thing is that it will clean up its own little mess.
At the bottom of the Sync button, tap on the small bar, then go to Sansa Fuze > Set up Sync. The trick is to look at the two lists of what’s to go on your player. In the list on the right, click on each item to be removed, then remove them. Microsoft designed this interface with the mindset of “Mouseketeer”, as you have to click and remove each option individually.
The troublemakers are the funny ones: recent TV shows, Five Star rated songs, etc, and the BIG one, “All Music”, “All Pictures”, and “All Videos”. Remove them from the list, and press Start Sync again. Windows Media Player will clean up its mess for you, and you’re ready to go.
Oh, and yes, I about had a brain hemorrhage until I figured that one out.

Thanks Tapeworm and Neutron Bob. I think I got it taken care of.

What? . . . You don’t like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers?
C’mon, expand your musical horizons! :smileyvery-happy:
