I have a WD My Passport for Mac (2TB). I want to back up my Macbook Pro using TIme Machine; and I also want ot be able to save and retrieve individual photo, video and data files. Do I need to partition the drive when I set it up? Or can I set up for separate folders; onw for Time Machine, the other for everything else>
The Time Machine backup will be saved to a designated folder labeled Time Machine backup.
Therefore, saving other files will not be a problem even if you don’t have multiple partitions.
