Working to resolve a problem with my son’s red 4GB Sansa Fuze.
Turn it on and you are greeted with the blank white screen. We have tried a number of things to “reset” the unit. Holding the power slider for varying lengths of time. Held it on lock while pressing the center button while plugging in USB cable. All without success. Last night I upgraded the firmware to version 01.01.22 from .11 or .12. No change. When I plug it into the USB cable my computer can see it. I have yet to figure out how to place the unit into MSC mode. I can’t do or see anything on the unit when it powers up. I can’t change anything on the unit when it is connected to the PC. Scratch that, I was able to reformat it today. Have connected the unit to multiple USB ports without success. Have scoured this website in hopes of finding the gem that would enable us to unlock the white screen. The serial number is not legible.

Any help appreciated. Thanks,
Go Here and Look around. If you cant satisfy your problem just by searching around post your problem on there.
I’ll bet there’s at least one that’s similar to your situation or at least one solution that will work. There’s no one reason why this happens, so there’s no ‘silver bullet’ that works for everyone. You just need to find the right ‘key’ to fit your ‘lock’.
Yes, I searched on “White Screen” and have many spent hours reading posts trying the variety of items listed as possible solutions… all to no avail. Posting was close to my last ditch solution, with equally unsatisfying results. You guys might as well answer “Find it on the web!!!”.

We post like that because there is NO SILVER BULLETT. Different things can cause this thus there are different fixes. I would suggest you call SanDisk as you could simply have a defective screen.
It might be beyond hope then. If nothing you’ve been able to find here has helped, the only other options is to call Sandisk Tech Support and/or reutrn it. If you can’t return it where you got it, SanDisk will replace it under their 1 year warranty. If the Tech Support people can’t resurrect it, then they can start the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process for you.
