A friend of mine recently gave me a Sansa Express that wasn’t turning on. It’s probably over 10 years old so there’s no surprise that the battery is probably already dead. When I plug it into my laptop (windows 10), the internal storage is still detected and the old mp3’s are still intact. The properties tab shows that the battery is at 0% and this hasn’t improved over the past few hours of charging. The unit is however getting hot (I havent transferred any files). Is this unit still revivable? Or is the battery already dead?
If it is not charging but getting hot, I’d say it is DOA. There’s something wrong with the charging and/or battery circuitry which is not repairable.
