The Connect only operates in MTP mode, not MSC (removable disk, assigned a drive letter) mode.
You can copy an entire folder’s worth of music onto the microSD while it is in the player, or into the flash memory, but the Connect won’t present that folder name to you. Music on your Connect is displayed to you with menus that allow you to access your music by Artist, Album, Genre and Playlists. Songs are sorted by track number + song name with albums, and albums are sorted alphabetically within artists.
Yes, you can create playlists based on your folders, and sync them to the Connect. There are several tools available to do that. I’ve never used any of them, but I know they’re out there. Note that playlists can’t be nested within playlists, though.
Yes, the Connect has a random mode, and will play songs randomly within a playlist.
I don’t have any Kingston microSD cards, so can’t speak to how well they work in the Connect.
You must not have Googled for dimensions for these two players, both are easily available:

I’m not sure where you are located, but in the U.S. you can easily buy a Sansa Connect for around $35, sometimes lower.
The Fuze is smaller than the Connect, and has much better battery lifetime.
The Fuze has an FM radio receiver, the Connect does not.
The Fuze offers MSC mode and folder-based display, the Connect does not.
The Connect is a discontinued player and will no longer get firmware updates from SanDisk, though in my experience I’ve found the Connect’s firmware to be nearly flawless.
You can play the Connect while it is connected to your PC; I don’t believe this is the case with the Fuze, although there are probably some USB cable hacks out there that will allow you to disable the USB data line so the Fuze can charge and play while connected to your PC.
The Connect’s WiFi functions can be re-enabled so that you can listen to free Yahoo Launchcast music station streams, and view photos stored in your Yahoo Flickr account. It’s not known how long these services will be provided, though.
