Sansa Clip+ and microSD / microSDHC Cards

Hello,

I have a Sansa Clip+ 4GB and I purchased a 16GB MicroSD card for it (generic card from generic site). However, the card they sent and the subsequent replacement do not work. When connected to my PC they do show up as being there but they show the capacity as 0GB. I tried to format them but the format failed. I contacted the seller and they offered a return (on my dime) and said "

Please note that this cards are compatible with microSDHC host devices, not compatible

with standard microSD-enable device/readers."

This is my first experience with microSD / microSDHC, but this doesn’t seem to apply to me. The Sansa description of the Clip+ says it can use microSDHC. So I need some expert advice…Should my Clip+ be able to use these cards given the seller’s details and the cards are just faulty or are they incompatible with the Clip+?

btw. I bought an 8GB from the same seller on a different sale and it works.

Yes, your Clip+ should be able to use these cards. The cards you received are most likley either faulty or counterfeit. Before the 32GB card came out, the 16GB version was the most counterfeited card out there. Your dealer may have some of these. And not to necessarily fault the dealer; he may have got taken on them too.
