I bought a new SanDisk Ultra 32 GB Class 10 microSDHC for my new Samsung Galaxy SIII and, in trying to copy files to it, I’ve run into problems: Windows Explorer will copy 8-15 files to the disk and then hang up (i.e. show “Not Responding” in Task Manager); this freezes all running instances of Windows Explorer, including those not involved in the copy operation in question. And they will all stay locked up until I eventually pull the microSDHC out, at which point Explorer becomes responsive again. The file it got hung up on shows a size of 0 bytes. The files were variously MP3 files and JPG pics from my previous phone camera, so they aren’t very large (ranging from 500k to 7-10mb)
I have tried this on both my home machines (quad core desktop and laptop, both running Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit) and my work machine (dual core Dell running Win XP SP3), with similar results. The problem persists even after using the phone to format the card. It also doesn’t seem to matter if I use the default Windows file copy function, or Teracopy, a file copy utility.
Someone please help me out. I like Sandisk products and have used them for years, but this is the first time I’ve run into something like this. I want to get all my stuff (music, pics, ebooks, etc) off my iPod Touch and consolidate devices.
Thanks!
