I want to remove RockBox from my SansaClip Plus, but can’t figure out how to do it. I want to the original firmware to be restored once again.

Ok, as it turns out I was wrong. At this point every time I turn this thing on I see the dreaded RockBox splash screen. I thought I had deleted all files associated with RB while the device was connected to my laptop.
I gotta be honest here. I am not really the most technically-savvy intelligent being here on the planet. I really don’t need someone to tell me about going and deleting some type of ‘downloader’, ‘installer’, or ‘bootloader -thingamabob’
Is there any way someone could please explain this to me in a way that a layman can understand it. I am absolutely and completely convinced that the SanDisk website does NOT offer free downloads of the SansaClip Plus firmware. The SansaClip Plus is an item that I am sure that SanDisk wishes would completely disappear from the face of the earth. They have not offered support for this since probably around 2010.

You just need the Rockbox installer for your Sansa unit and run the uninstaller. If you’ve already deleted the files, check the Rockbox forum for help. You may have inadvertantly deleted the original firmware so they may be able to guide you through the recovery.
Ok, I did that. Went to the RockBox site and downloaded the installer. Then selected the Uninstall option.
After this, the device would only display the following messages (not both at the same time):
File not found
Then …
Plug USB cable
No matter what I do I cannot get past this screen. And when I do plug the USB cable, the screen displays the following message:
Bootloader USB mode
That’s all she wrote.

UPDATE: Well, by messing with the buttons on the device I finally got it to actually turn off (I did this after unplugging the USB cable).
Then when I turned the device back on, I once again saw the ROCKBOX screen.
Not sure where this went south.
Does anyone here know if it is still possible to download the original firmware for the Sansa Clip Plus here at this website?
