Please advise how to reinstall WD SmartWare from a previously formatted drive. Currently being prompt following double clicked WD SmartWare.exe, “Application not started from drive”. Any help comment would be greatly appreciated!!!

You can download the application from the Western Digital website for the proper installation.

Have tried again and again without any success - whether trying to install WD SmartWare.exe from either C: or WD drive, still incurring Windows prompt, “Application not started from drive”. Any thoughts??
If the drive is working without the firmware update don’t worry about doing it.

Had success with the reinstall of SmartWare - however now another problem (the reason I initialling formated the WD drive in the first place)
Experiencing Backup freezing - that is backup is not proceeding past 69.82GB of 377GB to be copied. Can you please advise fix?
WD email support currently of no assistance - is this normal?
