Problem in WD 1TB My Passport Portable Drive

Hi,

Yesterday I Recd " WD My Passport 1 TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive ( Black) " Through Online Retailer - Amazon.

I was impressed by the Product & its Packing. On Receiving it , I did the Online Registration, which was successful.

Problem : 

There was a Discrepancy.

With the same Serial No, At the back of the Product the Model No Shows : WDBBEP0010BBK-03 ,  where as , Online the Model No shows :   WDBBEP0010BBK-BESN.  

 

Why there is a difference in the Model No.

 

Further, after registration, when I connected it with my PC (OS - XP Home ), the Total Capacity was showing as 932.5 GB instead of 1 TB. Why ??

Is there any problem with the Product.  Pls Help.

Hello, the model suffix number is only for internal use, the first part of the model number (WDBBEP0010BBK) is the one relevant to the drive specifications. For more information about on how the drive capacity is displayed, check the link below. 

Drive displays a smaller capacity than the indicated size on the drive label
