Playing by Filename instead of Tag???

Hi,

I have the standard clip and although its a great little player, it was never able to read audiobooks by filename or music mp3s by name either. The tags that are already created with the files sometimes wont play in order cause of the way the tag is labeled. I should be able to drag and drop and go! LOL. Does anyone know if the clip+ can play by filename?? Did a search but couldnt find anything specific about the clip+ Thanks!

You must not have searched very hard; it’s all over this board. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, the Clip+ has folder browsing and recognizes files names in addition to ID3 tags. Owners of the original Clip are waiting for that feature to be added via a firmware update like the Fuze was, but it may or may not come to fruition.

Doh,!!  I have seen folder browsing all over the place but never realized it was the same thing!!  Ok, so I am a little electronically challenged today. Oh man, talk about eelit or it.!:smileyvery-happy: Thanks for the reply.

I think what he really means is if the now playing screen can display file names.

It is not only viewing file names.  It is also playing files in the alphabetical order plus recursevily (go to subfolders and play files from those subfolders as well)

Such as 01 - Track, 02 - Track, etc.?
