Why? There are no functional differences between the 2, the interfaces are the same as is the playback. The difference between v.1 and v.2 is some minor hardware differences and release date. So I would ask again why a v2 over a v1?
Thank you. I didn’t know if there was a difference or not. Usually when a newer version of something comes out, I think something changed or an earlier problem has been fixed (though, I guess that is what the firmware updates are for.).

The other possibility is that the Fuze was more popular than they anticipated so when they went to order more support control curcuitry they could not get them so that were substituted with another that gives the same functionality but requires a different firmwre… hench why we have 2 firmware versions.
