Passport: Access Denied! Help :(

I have a 1tb WD Passport Essential SE. I have a ton of very valuable data on it that I can not lose.

I downloaded the WD Smartware so I could password protect it. While installing the software and updating drivers somehow the Passport drive was switched to NTFS (screen shot: http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/ae017f7f0dc0.jpg)

Now when I click on the drive I get the above error: Access is denied.

I have no idea how to access my data now. The data is still there (screen shot: http://files.abovetopsecret.com/images/member/73f5915ce2a4.png)

I can not access this data at all. I have tried on 3 computers. All are running Windows7.

I desparately need to get access to this data…but how? I know reformating back to Fat32 will erase it all. I can not do that.

What are my options?

If you need additional info/screen shots, let me know.

Thanks!

Have you tried unlocking the drive?  http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=3741#unlock

I never even got as far as setting a password.  As soon as the install/updates were done, I had literally no access.

So,  there is nothing to unlock
