"not enough space for music DB. please free 90mb".

my problem is :i saved several mp3 songs from PC to the clip’s “internal memory” folder.
when i tried to listen to the songs, the screen says “not enough space for music DB. please free 90mb”. and it just has no response.

and after several times of reset, it is totally dead now.

You need to run Error-checking and/or format it.

And just where did you get the idea that this would be a good idea?

That certainly wasn’t my suggestion.

I’m familiar with this answer, and the problem, and how to resolve it. My question is what causes the file corruption? My friend, who is now the 3rd owner of my Clip 8GB V2, has already gotten this error twice, in just a couple months of owning the player…and he has no computer to plug the player into! Just a wallcharger(also my old one) to charge it with. So where does the corruption come from? I don’t mind fixing it for him, but the troubleshooting part of my mind would like to know the reason that I have to fix it. Any ideas, Sansa folk?

Hey

I’ve been having an identicle problem except that as soon as I try to plug in my Sansa it goes off, even if it’s just been displaying the free space message. Thus nothing comes up on my computer when I plug it in, nothing, no sansa, no new memory card, its like I’ve pluged in a brick. This makes formatting impossible. Is my Sansa lost?

You have to connect the Sansa under force MSC first so that it will be recognized by the computer. Once it got recognized, then you can format it. Just turn off the Clip+ then hold the center button while connecting it to the computer.

Thanks for the advice but it doesn’t seem to be working for some reason. If I hold down the centre button and plug it in I get no rsponse as per ususal, and if I start it up to the splash screen, hold down the button and plug it in, it just turns off unrecognised as normal. I can’t figure out why it would be doing this.

Is it just a brick now then? How worrying, this is my sister’s but I have the same mp3. How can Sansa send them out with such a shoddy design floor?

Please Help! This mp3 has all my sister’s music on and she hasn’t gotten round to transfering it to our new computer!
