My Samsung TV LA22D450G1R does not regonize My brand new MY PASSPORT External Drive 1TB

I was using sandisk 16GB pendrive to watch movies on TV, the pen drive was NTFS format, and TV recognized corrently and plays all movie formats, no matter whats the movie capacity is… it plays 10GB movies also…

My brand new WD My passport External HDD also in NTFS format, i did back up of all my videos, pictures and musics then i connected HDD to TV, TV is not even recognizes the HDD… Why is that… Hope i will get an correct answer instead asking me to check with TV whether it supports FAT or NTFS, becoz i already explained i was watching movies in my sandisk pendrive which was 16 GB and NTFS format… Thank you. Check with the TV manufacturer to make sure the TV supports this type of drives.

There could be two things happening:

  1. The TV does not support the drives capacity
  2. The TV does not supply enough power trough the USB for the drive to properly work.
