My passport ultra Window Mac problem

Hi all.

I have got a big problem here… I bought a passport ultra and was pretty happy with it, using it with a windows OS.

Yesterday I had to use a Mac at work and needed a file…

So I used my Passport Ultra with this mac  and…surprise…I can’t read my files anymore under windows. The device is not recognized anymore from windows.

When I use under Mac, I can see all my files…

Now, I need to use my device with windows…and honestly don’t need the mac option at all.

How can I get back my device to work with windows?

I have read the manual but…can’t find it… :frowning:

Thanks for your help.

Hi and welcome to the community carebis. Did you formatted the Passport to use it on the Mac? If you did, you need to format it again for windows (Note that this will delete all files). If you haven’t changed the format try adding a drive letter from the disk management window. Check the links below for more information.

Hello.

First of all, thank you for  the answer.

The problem is still there. I followed your link in order to format again the disk in exFAT but I see the ‘blue bar’ and when I right click and I do ‘DELETE VOLUME’ a pop up comes out saying ‘Volume is nor ready’.

I don’t care about the data on the disk anymore…I had an old back up. But I need the disk to fucntion correctly back…

Now I cannot read or use the disk It’ like is not recognized anymore!

I am ok with re formatting it…but how can I do it if it keeps saying ‘volume not ready’?

Thanks
