My Passport not appearing in Finder Window for Mac

Here’s the skinny:

  1. Works fine on my 2011 iMac running High Sierra but not 2020 iMac running Catalina, so that tells me there’s nothing wrong with the drive, cables, etc. Yet other drives to connect and show up, so that tells me it’s not the hardware on the new iMac.

  2. I’ve adjusted all of the settings in the new iMac in the finder preferences to ensure it will show up, yet it still doesn’t.

  3. I’ve played the IT game of shutting down the computer, disconnecting the cable, restarting, resetting Nvram, resetting in safe mode to see if it shows up in Disk Utility and no avail.

  4. Afterwards I called Apple and spent an hour walking them through everything I’d done only to find that they didn’t have anything else to tell me.

So… Anyone have any insight on what my next step might be?

ich habe die anleitung befolgt, weil ich das selbe problem habe und leider ist ab 8. die durchführung bei mir anders weil es mir " Aktion fehlgeschlagen … anzeigt.
Gibt es sonst noch irgendeine möglichkeit die festplatte zu retten oder wieder beschreibbar/ benutzbar zu machen?
