I have a terabyte that i’ve been using to store pictures and music. Its been working fine and today i plugged it in with another smaller western digital hard drive and walked away. when i got back, my book had shut it self down and was just blinking showing it was still plugged in. I can’t seem to get it to show up as being plugged in to my usb and it looks as if i have lost everything. When its plugged in and i try to open WD smartware it begins to open and the freezes my computer. I haven’t been able to troublt shoot it much because its bogging my computer down bad. any suggestions? i really need to get in to the hard drive as it h as my resume on it. please help!

Is the drive connected to a power strip? If so, connect the unit direct to the wall socket. Also check the USB cable, If possible test your drive using a different computer.
