I use MB as my Time Machine external backup. When I start or restart the Mac all works normally, when it tries for the next hourly backup it fails and the MB shows up on Finder but can’t be read. If I Force Eject, the drive, unplug it and replug it in, all is good.
I’ve changed which USB port it plugs into, all Mac software is up to date. I’ve spoke with WD and Apple with no success. WD thought that an Energy saving setting was causing the drive to go to sleep (it sure acts like it does) but changing that setting had no impact.
Would really appreciate suggestions.
