I am attempting to get some vids converted and transfered to my e280 while abroad but nothing I do seems to work.

So far I have

-Updated Firmware

-Installed the latest SMC

-Used 3rd party MC software Video4fuze

-Tried multiple file types MPEG, AVI, WMV

I either get do not support file type or codec issues or it will not even bring the file to the converter, finally most of the time I get a not finished report and a web link telling me to download Apple QuickTime.

Can someone please outline a way that works. Please. I have been all over these forums and nothing I find really helps.

Oh and the computer I am working on is mainly in french so error message I can only give a loose translation of.

Pas de problème, tell your computer.

Install Quicktime , but be careful when viewing the installation options: be sure to “uncheck” the options for the iTunes / Safari / Yahoo toolbar / can opener, et cetera.  These choices will pop up when the installation process begins.

Why would you need Quicktime in the first place?  It’s useful for the codec integrated in the format, for avi video.  Codec support is a huge part of the video conversion process.

While you’re at it, I’d recommend installing CCCP, the Combined Community Codec Pack, or you can try other packs, but I can vouch for this one.  Oh, and their page looks cool, retro Soviet.

Having these codecs installed gives the Sansa Media Converter more tools in the toolbox to convert your source video.
