I don't know how to get it to automatically back up my files

I just installed the WD Smart Ware Software, and it says it’s supposed to back up my files automatically, but it’s not.  I have gone to “Back Up” and then clicked on “Run Back Up” but it only gives me the option of pressing “cancel” or “drive erase”, neither of which I want.  It hasn’t saved any of the files from this computer yet, and I’m just not sure why my only option is drive erase.  Can anyone help me with this?

I think you’d better use windows built-in back-up tool, it worked good on my passport. I do not trust this SmartWare, specially if you are using windows7 as I do.

The Smartware is buggy and a resource hog. You might want to try  this http://support.wdc.com/product/downloaddetail.asp?swid=119&wdc_lang=en  I use the paid version.
