I can not turn off the drive lock feature in windows 7 64 bit. WD Smartware will not run/load

I posted earlier that I could not now find systme images when trying to install a system image…

I recalled turning on the drive lock feature

I remember the password and can unlock the drive.

Whenever there is a restart the drive needs to be unlocked.

In no paticular order:

1.  What can I add to the system repair disk to unlock the my book essential?

2.  How can I turn off the drive lock syatem?

3.  WD Smartware is supposed to be able to turn off the drive lock system.

     Wd Smartwre will not load/run

How can I turn off the drive lock syatem?

You can remove the password protection option from the WD Smartware software under settings.

If Smartware is not loading, try uninstalling the software and install that again.

Check on page 39 of the user manual for the software.
