Why can’t I use my WD elements hard drive on a tv?

Depending on the Manufacturer and Model of your TV … will depend on what’s supported.
With Hard Drives you have to take into consideration the following for compatibility with your TV.
Files System Formats eg. FAT32, eXFAT, NTFS etc
Partition Tables. eg MBR (Master Boot Record), GPT (GUID Partition Table)
Capacity eg. 1TB, 2TB, 4TB etc
Consult your TV User Manual or contact the TV Manufacturer to find out what your model of TV supports.
All I know is I plug my Toshiba hard drive in and I can watch movies, I plug my WD hard drive in I can’t watch movies? I’m after a solution as to fix this. I have 5 tvs two are smart tvs and it’s the same one each. I need a solution to make it work please surely they should just work
