this is the hard drive i bought. i did open it recently so i know the caviar green HD model# (WD10EADS) and the encrypted PBC model# (4060-705066-003)
What is it that you’re asking? If you’ve lost your password, it’s not possible to recover the data from the drive.
You can remove the password (which will erase the drive) and restore from your backups.
I haven’t lost the password. My WD mybook studio stop turning on a few years ago. When I connect the charger to the outlet nothing happens. I’m assuming is the Power Circuit board that is broken and I want to know how can I retrieve the data by myself because the drive is encrypted so alternate sata drive will get it working but won’t read it
