How can I Move my WD My Book from old Win Xp to New Win 7 pc. Also, how do I find model number for the WD 1TB drive?

The model number can be located on the back of the unit on a sticker.

Most of our units compatible with Windows will work with both Windows XP and 7.

Just try plugging it in it should ask to install drivers click ok. If you used software for backups you may need to install that to retrieve data.

I have looked at the sticker on the Drive and the only information is Serial Number, WD P/N, R/N? No Model Number?

I am now scanning My Book drive for bad things prior to movin it to the new PC. Thanks for the information. I will Click on Kudos when I’ve completed the successful transfer.

P/N = Part number which is the same as model number.
