How do I know if my passport is working and creating back ups?

I am using a windows 10 system, upgraded from a windows 7 system. I’ve owned my passport for a few years. I can see a back-up dated 2015, and another one in March 2017. I rarely hook my passport up to computer. I wanted to set another backup yesterday. I think it is supposed to happen automatically, as I can’t find a place to initiate a new back up. I can’t find my passport model on the list of models to check for any software updates. Does that mean that mine is no longer supported? Any help appreciated.

I have the same issue. Upgraded form Win7 to win 10, and then a re-install. I hooked up the smartbook, and then all seems hunky-dory.

My only issue, is I can’t seem to find anywhere, any information on what been backed up, how many files, sizes, locations from, dates backed up, etc… I seem to have absolutely no information what so ever as to if it’s actually doing anything, apart from running a task, and taking up desk space…

Is there a way to see if it’s doing anything, to review an activity log or anything?

My MYBOOK is like this. No on/off switch or light to indicate it is on or working. The little hard drive thumping inside is the only indicator. Plus, now it says it’s paused yet I started a new backup and it started to work (I think) but no way to tell if it is done. I can’t find a menu of commands. I want to wipe out and start over but don’t know how. I installed latest software too.

Installed MyBook and set up the Backup plan, and it looks like a full backup was run. At least, when I go to WD Discovery and work my way through to the “History” folder, I see a long list of my folders…but they all show a backup date of 12/3 or 12/4 (the days I think I did the installation). I occasionally get popup notifications of “backup completed successfully” (or something like that)…but those History dates don’t change. Am I looking in the wrong place? I checked WD Backup just now, and it says last Backup was 6 minutes ago…but the dates in history haven’t changed…except there’s an “.snp” file dated today, about the time of the backup - but I can’t open it. Any ideas? Thanks!
