Help please- My Book Essential USB3 no longer working

Yes I know there are a ton of posts on this, and I wish I had read the forums before I bought the drive,

I got this drive within the last 90 days, a My Book Essential USB3 external drive

It worked very well for a while, and I used it as my primary backup source

Suddenly the other day, windows doesn’t see the drive (windows 7 64bit)

When trying to load the drive it “Doesn’t load properly” or can’t find the driver, or something,

I went to this forum and followed the steps, plugged it into a wall outlet,

This, connected the drive once again, kind of

when it says “installing drivers”… it says its ready to go

but then the drive is nowhere to be found, I went into disk managment and it says its not initialized, but it won’t let me initialize it,

Can’t access my data, which is very important,

I tried a few data recovery programs - but they don’t see the drive either

So what is my next step, I’m not willing to RMA it until I get my data back, thats for sure,

Please help!.. Thank you

Collin

Try burning a Linux Live CD and boot from that and see if you can access the drive. You can also try running TestDisk http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk  and see if that fixes the problem.
