Fuze wont work on car stereo usb plugin

Why won’t my fuze work in the usb plug in on my car stereo? It just says no music files available

Its possible that the stereo requires the device to be in MSC mode (most do). Try placing the device in MSC mode and try again. Let me know if that doesn’t work

Dear all,

I had the same problem as described by Rachard.

I already tried MTP and MSC-mode, but the radio (Sony CDX-GT*) telles me, there are no musi files.

Is there another workaround?

Daniel

If I understand it correctly files put onto the Fuze in MTP mode will not show up in MSC mode. So be sure to load your songs onto the Fuze in MSC mode and then see if your stereo can recognize them.

This is correct.  If you added the files to the Fuze in MTP mode and then switched to MSC mode, the car stereo (and your computer) will not see the files.  Only files added under the current mode will be visible over the USB connection.

This is generally true, and certainly true for computers…though my Kenwood receiver can see all files in MSC mode! The MTP files are under some weird directory structure, but they’re there.

Oh, that is the key to the mystery. I’ll try it tonight.

Thank you very much.
