Which one is better and why

The Fuze is smaller, plays more audio file formats, and has a superior processor for audio. The firmware is a single binary file. The Fuze is the latest generation device.
The View has a different processor, has a complex firmware library, with the primary system file in mi4 format like the v1 e200. The View’s complexity is optimized for video playback, plus the screen is bigger. Video processing does consume plenty of power, as the processor and display are busy.

Thanks I want something small and the view looks to big I don’t really care for videos I just want something small with a screen already have a 1 gig clip but a friend showed me his fuze and I liked it so i was thinking about buying one
The Fuze is wicked cool. Gnarly too. And it has good mojo.

The fuze is SWEET!!! i just dont like the firmware sandisk recently came out with 12/12/
I only noticed a new opening screen and connected indicators. What other differences are there?
Some have had issues with the scroll wheel being too fast (to which I suggest slowing your finger down) and There have been some other bugs reported but nothing major that effects the Wickd Awesomeness of this absolutly killer player.
The View is an older player. I am surprised that Sandisk hasn’t replaced it with something better. While the View is better than the Fuze for video, the View is inferior for audio. The View is very large, especially considering that its screen is only 2.4" inches. I was thinking Sandisk would replace it with a smaller player with a screen at least as large that is a touch screen(so the player can be just slightly larger than the screen), sound quality equal to the Fuze, a full sized SDHC card slot, battery life of 50 hours for music(or 10 hours for video), etc.
When will we see some new players from Sandisk? It is 9 months since the Fuze came out, and the Slotmusic player is a real disappointment since there is no display(it would have been so much better with a basic alphanumeric display, and a few more buttons for navigation). I am also surprised that the 2 gig Fuze has not discontinued, and that a 16 gig Fuze has not been introduced. Is Sandisk waiting for the new firmware allowing 8,000 songs before introducing a 16 gig Fuze? It also seems silly that Sandisk has not discontinued the one gig Clip. How much cheaper is it to make a one gig Clip rather than a 2 gig? Having too many variations confuses consumers, and decreases economies of scale. It also puts an added burden on retailers. Imo the one gig and two gig Clip are too close in functionality, and there really isn’t any reason to keep making the one gig Clip. Instead, Sandisk needs needs some more models that are very different from existing ones. Perhaps a Slotmusic player with a display and a clip on the back? Has Sandisk totally given up on LCD displays(like on the m250?)? I like the idea of a basic alphanumeric display that is always on while the player is playing, yet consumes very little power. There could be a button on it for a light to come on, like many digital watches have. I guess such a display would not only consume very little power, but also be very inexpensive.
I would like to see a model that is a hybrid of the Clip and Fuze that has a card slot, a clip on the back, a screen between the size of the Clip and the Fuze screen, a scroll wheel, longer battery life than the Clip, no video, a standard mini USB connector, and between the size of the Clip and the Fuze.

The scrollwheel speeds up when you’re scrolling through long lists (e.g. albums, artists or songs). You can add artists or albums to a go-list (not just individual songs), and the go-list capacity has been expanded to 200 songs. There’s a sleep timer. Postcasts and audiobooks work on the external card now.
…which, all in all, promotes the Fuze from wicked sweet to über awesome-o-rific.

The 2 gig Fuze is still out there as Sandisks answer to the smaller players still on the market from ipod and zune (my local best buy still has 2 gigs from both competitors) and the 1 gig clip is the answer to the Shuffle because of Its screen. I agree about the 16 gig. I bought a 2 gig Fuze a month and a half ago, as part of a package, and I love it I dont need more than can be achieved with an sd card. I say leave it out there as long as it sells and as long as the competition has their comparable model avalible. When they pull them from the store may I suggest a Fire Sale on the sansa site, I would by a few more players (gifts and such) at a close out rate
Nice feature improvements. I wonder… if I were to download an audiobook could I just transfer it to the chip, then plug the chip in to the fuse?

How many people would object if they couldn’t buy a 2 gig Fuze for $60, and instead needed to buy a 4 gig Fuze for $70? The price difference between the 2 gig and 4 gig clip is only around $5-10. I could see having both when the price difference is much greater, for example around $25 price difference between the 4 GB and 8 GB Clip.

Agreed (I got mine in a package with a micro sd card and some skullcandy iems) because it was a good deal. I was simply saying as long as other brands have a 2 gig or 1 gig product sansa probably will too.
I’ve had my fuze for about 5 days now so far I like it video quality is pretty good audio is good and it’s not that big
8gb fuze
8gb e280 v1 rockboxed
I only paid $90 for my 8gb fuze new on amazon
