The firmware updater (v 3.2.5.1) doesn’t detect my drive (WDBBKD0030BBK, Bitlocker encryption). It did detect the old drive (WDBBKD0020BBK, WD encryption). Please advise.

before i go thru all that effort, would you mind telling me what is the latest firmware for the WDBBKD0030BBK?

also, can i run a DOS/bootable updater? disabling then enabling Bitlocker will take hours…

Actually, you unit does not have a firmware available for downloads. I got confused with the previews version of the drive.
The one that you have, comes with the WD Backup app.
