Drag and drop but then nothing there??

I plug in the device to my macbook and it comes up.  I click on music folder.  I drag music from Itunes.  Click eject,  while device still says connected and never disconnects.  Unplug it and it says updating.  Then go to play music and nothing is on it.  If I plug it back into the macbook it shows files in the music folder.  What am I doing wrong?

I’ve read the online manual.  It acts like the music is going to the Clip but when you pull it from the computer it is empty.  If I plug it back in to the computer and open the music folder it says the music is there??

Are the songs in mp3 format? If they are in a format that the Clip+ doesn’t recognize, then they won’t show up on the player’s menu. If the files are unprotected, then you will be able to use itune’s export feature to convert them to mp3.

Yea i just read up on that and I can’t change the format.  I have Itunes 8.

I think I figured it out.  I wish I would have known this long ago and I wouldn’t of downloaded everything in acc format:neutral_face:

So the music is not in mp3 format? Do you have the CDs or did you download the music? If you have the CDs, then you should rip the music again to your computer, using mp3 as the format. Choose a bitrate somewhere between 128 kbps and 256 kbps(256 kbps for the best quality, 128 kbps to fit more music on the player).  Converting the music from AAC to mp3 will lose quality ayway, so it is best to go back to the original CDs.

So many people have iTunes that don’t have iPods…I’ll never understand this. We need to educate people!:wink:

Yep, AAC isn’t supported for the general music population.  There are many reasons for this, not the least of which being licensing issues with the format.

Audible uses AAC as an integral part of the new format (AAX) but this is a unique case.  I find that the latest mp3 codecs and Windows Media Audio provide comparable performance for the Sansa.  Hey, if you want to go all-out on the performance path, FLAC is free, and cannot be beat.

For your iTunes library, using the “convert to MP3” of iTunes option is the hot ticket for transferring compact files to the Sansa, probably the cleanest option.

I do have an Ipod only because I got it free through a purchase.  My wife doesn’t like it’s bulkiness so she wanted a clip on mp3 for the gym.
