Copy CD / DVD to my passport

My Passport is setup to automatically backup my computer. I want to use some of the Passport drive space to store copies of CD , DVD and photo files and folders.

Must I create a separate partition on the passport drive to accept the files and folders that I manually “Drag & Drop” to the drive?

Will a partition containing the Western Digital Passport  software continue to automatically backup my computer to that partition? 

Is using multiple partitions  the best approach to achieve my goal?

Hi, you don’t need to do that, just access your passport manually and copy and paste your files, if you access the passport you will see a folder with the name smartware.swstor is inside, that’s where smartware saves the backup, as long as you don’t delete that folder your backup is save.
