Clearing a planned backup from WD My Passport?

Hi there

Quite satisfied with my new WD Passport Ultra 1Tb. A fastworking little thing (Usb 3.0!) and also a very neat design!

I had 90 Gb of documents on an internal secondary disk in my pc. Wanted to reformat the disk and backed up the whole lot to WD. Nice and easy. And after reformating the disk I retrieved all 90 Gb back again from WD. So far so good.

But - now I still have the 90 Gb backup on the WD, and as I understand it, once you plan a backup to WD, you must chose the frequency of that backup. It´s like the content of my internal disk is now somehow linked to the backed up content on WD.

How do you break that link and delete the 90Gb from WD?

I find no “Delete backup” buttons anywhere. Have I missed something?

Why isn´t there an option in the WD Smartware like “This is a one-time-backup, I don´t want to set the frequency” - ?

Have a nice day!

Just go in with Windows Explorer and delete them.

You should find them on the drive in the SmartWare.swstor folder, with each backed up machine and then volume/drive within that machine having a separate folder entry.
