Yes it will stop flashing when fully charged, can take a few hours the first time. With lithium ion batteries it’s a good idea to let it drain down to almost to a complete discharge but not dead, and without charging between uses about twice to condition the battery .After that it should hold a good long charge. Don’t Worry if you didn’t do this the first few times just should be done early in the life cycle of the batt. No lithium ion batts don’t develope a memory, this is done to fully activate the nature of the chemical properties and the reaction that takes place. Some techies may argue this but why then just about every batt of this type and others never hold the full rated charge at first?
hope this helps

Thanks for your help everyone. My Clip is all charged up and I have to say for the money the Clip is one heck of a great MP3 player.

You will also notice that, after a few charge / use cycles, the battery service life will increase a bit. I noticed that the battery drained more rapidly on my four Clips for the first two cycles each.
Amazing service life, considering how small it is!

Thanks for the info Bob. Yes it is an amazing little gadget. If they would give it a micro SD card slot it would be perfect.

That is not what Batteryuniversity.com recomends. What they are refering to is what is knowen as digital memory, and to reset the battery gauge they recomend to do a deliberate full discharge and recharge every 30 charges or so to correct this problem. Do you have any helpfull information to give? Know anything about Chemistry? or just have too much time on your hands. That method I mentioned comes from China BAK Battery Inc. buy the way one of the worlds largest lithium Ion battery manufacturers. Ever try it? did you graduate from battery university.com? or what? Here is a clue Use your time to help people not **bleep** off, contradict what other people say and give out false info. mike the sansa Regressor.

I just bought the Sansa clip and am charging it for the first time. The battery is not flashing anymore but it still shows connected. Will there be anything that runs across the screen saying battery charged?
Also should I charge in between uses or drain all the way?
Thanks.
