charge while listening

Just got a Fuze 8GB and have a few questions about charging the battery.  Can I listen to it while charging?  I sit in front of my computer at work all day so I’m just wondering.

Does anybody know if it’s better on the battery life if you let it run down before charging?  I thought it was better on cell phone batteries if you did that, rather than charging when it doesn’t really need it, just wondering if these are the same way.

If you charge from your computer then technically you cant. (There are ways to do it). However if you pick up an AC adapter you can plug it in to that and listen while you charge.

Actually the battery in the fuze likes to be charged more often than not. If you let the battery get too low you will have problems. I for instance never let my battery get below 40%. This will not hurt your battery’s longevity

Thanks, I’ve got an AC charger coming in a couple of days.  Do you think it will make a difference whether I keep it plugged in all day or just plug it in when it gets down to 50% or so?

You can leave it all day. The Fuze’s hardware is set up in a way that it shuts the charging circuit off when its full, and it will run off of the Ac charge.

cc,

I have a different solution to this question. With my Fuze plugged into the computer USB port, it is charging but I can also access and listen to any content on the Fuze by using Windows Explorer to access the Fuze files and then clicking on a playlist or a single MP3 file… This activates my computer MP3 player and plays the Fuze content through the speakers/earphones connected to the computer…

This is, I believe, what you were asking about, accessing and listening to the Fuze content while connected to the computer and simultaneously charging the Fuze… Note that the Fuze is only displaying the charging screen, all control and access is actually via the computer. Doesn’t anyone else do it this way?

This works too but I did not suggest it because in many offices I have dealt with there is no headphone access to the computer and there are other people around so you cant use the speakers… thats why I prefer the AC charger… But never the less GODD IDEA!
