Okay, maybe someone can help me with this. Just installed the newest update, loaded my Fuze+ player with all of my music, including .m4as. While my player was in the middle of playing a regular .mp3, it suddenly went black mid-song and the audio turned into a loud buzzing. I had to hold the top button down longer than usual to get it to reboot. Upon rebooting and reloading my library and card, 2,000 of my songs were missing from my library and had shown up under “Videos” with a playtime of 00:00. They all appeared to be .m4as. What? I’m pretty close to trashing this thing, but if anyone else has experienced this or has an idea of what happened, please tell me.
I think your Fuze+ doesn’t recognize the .m4a container. I think it could only recognize .aac, .mp3, .ogg, .flac. Have you tried formatting the player and reloading the .m4a’s only?
I use almost exclusively .m4a files (aac’s in the .m4a container) and they play flawlessly with my fuze+. Sandisk players are quite fussy with their tags, however…not only .m4a’s, but any content; so I would look there before looking too deeply into the issue.
This happened to me too, I could not get it to turn back on so I had to let the battery go dead before I could charge it, I am charging it on my PC now. I hope it works, I am so ready to throw it out the window!!! I never had such issues with the older Sansa Fuse, I already took one back and got another one, my husband has took back 3 having this problem.Even with the new update, this happened!!:womanmad:

This may be an obvious question, but did you try pressing and holding the power button? That usually forces the thing to shut down, even if it is frozen or whatever.
